Info
for New or Prospective Members
For those of you who're
thinking of swelling the ranks of the lycra louts we'll
be publishing links, news and information here to describe
what you can get out of cycling. Did you know for instance
that a regular cyclist has the physiology of someone ten
years their junior? Or that cycling is a low impact form
of excercise that can reduce your blood pressure and your
resting heart rate without damaging your joints?
When I joined the
club I'd been riding a bicycle regularly for about 6 months
after I realised that at 37 I was cultivating a rather attractive
beer belly! During that time I lost 2 stone in weight without
resorting to eating celery and bread sticks. So, whether
you're young, old, thin, fat, bored or stressed, this activity
allows you to get fit, socialise, de-stress & get into
the great outdoors at your own pace with little chance of
injury.
Obviously, we like
it a lot! We're sure you will too so below are some links
to sites that may help you understand the hows, whats and
whys of cycling. Get started cos the revolution has 2 wheels
& a rather nice carbon, aero seat pin!
This
link will take you the BC web site. It does go straight
on into road racing for those who may wish to compete but
for those who don't there's some great piccies! . More..

This
next bit is a necessary but sad fact of life. INSURANCE.
The
Corinium Cycling Club committee has arranged for Organisers
Liability Insurance with the CTC. This policy covers any member
of the club who organises or assists at an event, such as
a club run, providing third party cover.
It
does not cover individual participants at any event organised
by the club.
The
committee strongly recommend that all members should take
out individual third party insurance cover. This can be
obtained from the CTC or BCF. Some home policies also provide
cover but you should check as to what extent.

boring was that then? Here are some useful addresses..
