David Phillips 2nd at Upavon RR

David lined up with 36 other 3rd and 4th category riders on Saturday 23rd Jan, on a cold and bleak winter morning. It was the first of the Upavon Winter Series, as the last two weeks had been cancelled owing to bad weather. The race started quickly and riders were being blown out the back straight away. There were many attacks, all of which got pulled back.On the final ascent to the finish line Matthew Conner from Newbury RC made an attack and broke free from the bunch chased quickly by David and Andy Edwards from Kingston Wheelers. Matthew won the sprint followed closely by David Phillips who came in 2nd place. A great start to Corinium's racing season.
